Question
Dear Paul Walker,

What does the bible speaks about receiving assistance. I remember reading a passage in the bible saying "do not receive assistance, work with your own hands?" I can't find it anymore. What does it mean?

Answer
I am not sure what verse you are referring to, but it sounds as if you might not be using a KJV which is all I use. However, here is a passage that might be what you are looking for.
1 Thessalonians 4:9-12  But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.  10And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;  11And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and TO WORK WITH YOUR OWN HANDS, as we commanded you;  12That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
I hope this helps.

The Bible contains an answer to all things necessary to life and salvation. We many times simple do not like the answer it gives. But, if your seeking the truth of God`s word, I can give my opinion and show from the Scriptures the basis for why I believe it is the correct interpretation of the Bible on most questions.
