Question
King Ahab and King Jehosphaphat was deciding whether to go to war with the Syrians over Ramoth-gilead.  There were false prophets lying and encouraging them to go to war and then there was the true prophet, Micaiah.  Zedekiah walked over and slapped Micaiah on the face and said, "When did the Spirit of the Lord leave me and speak to you?"  Micaiah replied, "You will have the answer to your question when you find yourself hiding in an inner room."  please explain these two verses to me because I do not quite understand them.

Answer
Zedekiah was offended by the remark because he was being accused of lying to the King and not hearing the true word of the LORD. His boldness to reprimand Zedekiah publicly will indeed lead to his cowardly act by hiding in a deep room. Another thing. Micaiah was comfortable with the fact that he was just insulted by the slap that he didn't stand up for himself but said by implication the truth will justify me.  It gives us a picture of what we should do when we are persecuted for Christ's sake.
