QuestionHello,
I am doing a study for school about the goods and bads of alcoholic beverages, and i was doing research on what God and the Bible say about wine and such. I found a verse: Proverbs 23:30-32 and it says things about wine but i don't know exactly what God is saying about wine in this text. Any help appreciated.

AnswerIf you take into consideration the verses before it and after it, you will find that it is talking about being drunk such as; seeing things, uttering perverse things, passing out, and waking up wanting another drink and not feeling anything when you are punched or hit, etc. But as far as drining in moderation Old testament for the Priests
Numbers 6:3
He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
-- here you can't even eat grapes.--
Proverbs 31:6
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
1 Timothy 5:23
Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities
-- Jesus also drank wine but it was wine from grapes not this processed stuff we have now.
In summary here is a conclusion of drinking that might help you out.
1 Corinthians 8:12-13
12But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
13Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
Good luck with your study. Remember (bonus info) one should not be judged but what they do but by the condition of their heart.
Matthew 7:15-16
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits...
