Bible Studies/RE: Sabbath

QuestionI have a question about the Sabbath. My friend who I think is a 7th day Advantice. Which he believes he's not. He believes in the Sabbath frm the law of Jews. Friday evening to Saturday evening, no work, no tv on friday. I believe that the sabbath, after Christ was risen to celebrate the holy day on Sunday. The Sabbath is doing what we desire to do. Also, what do you think about having fellowship in the homes? I am from a non-denomination church meaning no name. Just the Truth of God's word. we follow as what the bible says. Not only that but, our preacher's go 2x2 like the apostles did with Christ. They go and preach the Gospel. They have no homes and no possessions. They left their families to preach the gospel.
AnswerDear jem47,
The time of the Sabbath has not changed, it is still the 7th day of the week as it is a picture of the 7th day of the one thousand year period which is about to begin, being the Sabbath day of the one thousand year/day week. Therefore, it cannot be changed.
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that ONE DAY IS WITH THE LORD AS A THOUSAND YEARS, AND A THOUSAND YEARS AS ONE DAY.
However, we, as those that have trusted in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, are not instructed to keep the Sabbath.
Romans 14:4-6 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5 ONE MAN ESTEEMETH ONE DAY ABOVE ANOTHER: ANOTHER ESTEEMETH EVERY DAY ALIKE. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, THE SABBATH WAS MADE FOR MAN, AND NOT MAN FOR THE SABBATH:
I am not sure what you mean by your Preachers having left their families to preach? I do know that it is a man's first obligation as a saved person to care for their families.
1 Timothy 5:8 But IF ANY PROVIDE NOT FOR HIS OWN, AND SPECIALLY FOR THOSE OF HIS OWN HOUSE, HE HATH DENIED THE FAITH, AND IS WORSE THAN AN INFIDEL.
The Apostles did not leave theirs, the two by two was of a very short duration and no one left his family.
I am not sure I have aided you or not, but I hope you will consider the matter further and study the Scriptures on it.
Your Servant in Christ Jesus,
