Question
Hi, In Matthew 15:24 Jesus says "He was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel". I thought He was sent to help all people. Please explain. Thanks.

Answer
Hi David! Jesus WAS sent to help all people, ultimately dying for all of our sins as a perfect sacrifice. However, His ministry on earth was directed to the Jews, while the ministry to the Gentiles came later. Keep in mind also that Jesus and the early disciples were Jewish. Later, Paul and others joined in the ministry to the Gentiles. Ministry was "first to the Jews, then to the Gentiles" as the Gentiles were later "grafted in" after the Jews largely rejected Christ. The was predicted in prophecy and later fulfilled in Jesus Christ. I hope this helps.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
