Question
I have been looking into finding out who the antichrist  could be. Could the antichrist be Antiochus who was introduced to us in Daniel 11:23? n Daniel 11:36 Antiochus is fighting against God and the story is suddenly in our future, as if he dies and comes back to life. In Revelation 17:8 I wont quote the whole verse but it say "behold the beast that was, and is not,and yet is." To me this means the antichrist was alive, died, and will be alive again almost suggesting resurrection. In Revelation 13:3 And isaw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was heald. Is this Antiochus being brought back from the dead? Some other things to be brought to attention. Antiochuswas the rulerof greece and is one of the 5 past kings, he also reigned for three and a half years as will the antichrist, he set up an abomination of desolation, as will the antichist. Both are called little horns

your thoughts could Antiochus be Antichrist?

Answer
Thanks for writing, Cheryl.  Preciseness on prophecies of the future is a little shaky, but it could very well be as you have said.
According to I John 2:18, there are many anti-christs, perhaps prototypes of the main one in the end.
Rev. 17:8 may refer to the beast that was mortally wounded, but came back to life to be worshipped.
On another subject, our pastor says mystery Babylon, the woman riding the beast, is false religion of all time.  He says Satan will ultimately do away with the false religion he has used to lure people away from God.  In the end, it will be a clear choice between God and Satan.  Those who take the mark of the beast will have temporary physical life, but perish ultimately. Rev.14:7-10.
Anyway, shine for Jesus for as long as we have left!

I have time for you. The Bible has been my guiding light for most of the 56 years of my life. My missionary parents in Brazil kindled a love for God`s Word by their example and their love for truth. The Lord has blessed my husband and me with responsible, independent children who love and serve the Lord and are our best friends. I would enjoy discussing any subject or problem from a Biblical perspective.
