Adam and Eve had more offspring than Cain, Abel, and Seth; Genesis 4 tells of them having "other sons and daughters." Since God had not barred incest at that time (presumably because they were genetically pure enough to avoid the problems involved), most Biblical scholars agree that Cain and Seth married their sisters. (This practice extended even past the Flood; Abraham and Sarah were distant relatives.)
