Question
I am teaching a lesson to 80 mentally challenged people on "God Gives Me People to Love." Do you have or do you know where I can get information on this? Thank you. Shirley
Hi Shirley,
I'm sorry, but there is no way I can answer that question with any certainty nor can anyone else. It's one of many things that the Bible does not specifically deal with. We can believe that God does this if we choose but if we believe that, we should also believe that God gives us people to hate, or to try to keep from hating I should say. For those who'd say that God puts such people in our lives to test us would be wrong becasue that's Satan's job. Remember Adam and Eve and Job for some examples. I can't recall any place in the Bible where it clearly indicates that God "gives us people to love" unless it would be members of our families and, of course, everyone else on earth because God would like them to be saved and humans who know and obey the truth want what God wants. So, I guess you could say that since God has put us in the midst of so many other people, and God loves everyone, then God has given us people to love and he wants us to share the good news of forgiveness and the possibility of immortality for those that keep their comittment to faithfully obey him in that as they set the example for the rest of the world. Oh yes. Loving someone includes disciplining them when necessary too.

Experience
My education puts me second to none in this area and I have had over forty years experience in the area of teaching Christian theology, doctrine, apologetics, hermeneutics, history, and philosophy. Organizations
I belong to no officially recognized organizations. I'm simply a person with a deep and lifelong desire to know the truth, a desire so strong that I have, for more than 50 years, poured myself and a lot of money into finding it and making sure of it. I believe that life is too short and valuable to waste it believing a lot of stuff that isn't true. Everyone can't be right and be in disagreement at the same time and the claims made by the writers of the Bible are simply too serious to guess about.
Publications
It's quite obvious that the Bible is not easy to comprehend thus all the divided opinions about what it teaches. I am finalizing a short treatise on the Bible that I believe will help a lot of people who seriously want to get a clear understanding of what the Bible actually has to say to everyone, a treatise that should take the mystery out of it and show that it really makes sense. People deserve help in recognizing the truth about what the Bible says because there is so much false teaching about it that is actually leading people away from God instead of to God. It should be ready to send out by the end of this year, 2011 or before.
