Bible Studies/Which Bible

Question
I was brought up Catholic, but now as a college student I want to reevaluate my faith and delve into the Bible. I have many student Bibles that I used all throughout school, but I want to get one that is really nice and is something I can keep with me for a very long time.

I haven't done a lot of research, but I do know that there are a lot of different options out there. I am now lost at which ones I should look into and what Bible would be best for me.

Could you lead me in the right direction? Does the type of Bible really matter as much as people say?

Answer
Hi Katie,

Thanks for your question.

The New King James or the English Standard Version are excellent translations. If you're looking for a good Bible with notes and commentary to use for studying the Reformation Study Bible is a good one. The study notes were written by such reputed Bible scholars as R. C. Sproul, J. I. Packer, James Boice, and Wayne Grudem. The MacArthur Study Bible is an excellent study Bible, as well.

I hope you find this helpful.

God bless!
