Bible Studies - why did god manifest his love after thousands of years?

Expert: Edward Bode - 11/7/2009

Question
if god had such love 4 hs creation why did he not send his son in the v begining to be crucified? was there no humanity b4 christ for gods concern? why did he manifest his love only aftr a thousand of years.

Answer
God did show His love for humanity from the start -- special gifts to Adam [and Eve]; after their disobedience, He shaped covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses.  He did shower His love and care on people during the time before Christ.  That He chose to wait until the 1st century AD to send His Son is indeed a mystery of divine knowledge.  However, the just of the Old Testament were able to enjoy the supernatural happiness of heaven  through the salvation-work of Jesus.  Interestingly, at the time of Christ the Mediterranean world was unified under one rule and one language and was at peace -- factors that helped in the original spread of the message of Jesus by His apostles.
Hope these thoughts help, Zyn.  If you wish more, please write again.
Also, best wishes to you -- and to your country, which I visited in 1969.
