QuestionLet me start of with that I'm a new found christian, and I still love my wife very much. Well myself and my wife are going thru a very nasty divorce and I been asking her to reconcile our marriage b/c we have 2 children together, but she continues to tell me that she does not want me any more, but I believe deep in her heart she still loves me but she turned so very bitter towards me, do you have any advise for me how I can get her to change her mind? And if you have any advise for her can you email the advise for her to
AnswerDear Ronnie,
You do not give much to go on, not being familiar with what the problems were it would be difficult to respond. You do not even say if your wife is saved or not, it would make a big difference in any recommendations. I would say you have to give her some space, straighten up yourself whatever the problem was and pray. Never relinquish responsibility for your children nor her and be the best husband and father you can be under the circumstances. However, do not attempt to play games playing your children off between the two of you, nor try to make up for not being there by buying their love and support. Be the father you ought to have been, confess your faults to them and be honest about your short comings in the marriage.
Financially, do not diminish your care of your family. You take the short end and suffer any shortages as a testimony of Christ and your new found faith in him. Find yourself a second job if need be to support yourself.
It is difficult, nasty and its going to hurt, but that is the only way to do right. Study God's word and prepare yourself to stand for and serve him.
Romans 8:18 KJV For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Salvation does not generally relieve us of the consequences of our actions, but the penalty of sin. Again, I say pray; and learn and obey his word.
I am sorry I cannot offer more.
