I have been a Christian for many years and love Jesus.  However, lately I have had questions about psychic abilities.  I have prayed and asked forgiveness for this.  Can one enter heaven with an unclean spirit attached to her soul?  Is chronic depression, nothingness, emptiness feelings constitute such an unclean spirit?  Thank you, Ann

There are all kinds of spirits which are evil and they come from their leader-the devil, whose purpose is to take away your trust and joy in God Who will always love you.  These are JUST fallen angels, angels who turned against God and want you to believe them instead of God.

Don't get deceived by stories, movies, TV presentations, etc. about spirits.  Few, if any, of these dipictions about the evil spirits are true.  They were written by people who are not followers of God and will not tell you what God really has said about evil spirits in His written word.  At best these writers only want to entertain their audience with scarey fiction.

Evil spirits are experts at deception.  I can tell by what you wrote that they are trying to make you doubt that you have any chance of having what Jesus has ALREADY given you, and that is:  His righteousness.     All followers of Jesus Christ are continually bothered by these evil spirits...daily.    After all, the devil doesn't have to waste any time trying to entrap
those people who don't know the freedom from sin's power given to us by God's Spirit.

I know all of the feelings that you mention.  Most Christians know them to some extent and some of us have had to have medical help as well as spiritual help from pastors and teachers who know God very well.  You sound as if you could use some friends who are openly and unashamedly follows of our Savior;  who know the Bible well and are willing to talk with over your concerns.

You are seeking God and His love.  By the promises of God,I can assure you that you have it:

Jn 12:44-46
44 Then Jesus cried out, "When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. 45 When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Besides recommending that you find a Christian fellowship, I will also recommend that you read a very good book about this matter.  It is call "Battlefield of the Mind"  by Joyce Meyer.    It can often be found in Walmart and always in Christian bood stores.
