Question what happens to a guardian angel when we die?
Answer The Bible does not mention anything about personal "guardian angels."
The text that contains a statement closest to the idea of "guardian angels" is:
Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
However, the context of that verse, many verses before and after, and the examples of the ministry of angels that are recorded in the Bible, do not allow for the idea of an angel being assigned to be a personal guardian for anyone but Christ:
Psalms 91:11-12 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
The meaning of this promise is abused by Satan when he used it to tempt Christ. What Satan implied that it meant is NOT what God intended. (See Matthew 4:6 and Luke 4:10-11.)
All angels belong to God, even the fallen ones (devils), and all obey Him. Even Satan is never anything more than a tool in the hand of The Almighty God.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
The modern "craze" about angels is not based on the Word of God, but rather on a gross misapplication of a very few verses.
