Question"Respected Father,
I would like to know more about the below given verses from John which says Jesus and father are One. What does it exactly mean, does it mean that Jesus and God is in the same way of faith and thinking or it means they are one being.
"I and my Father are ONE." John 10:30
Also, let me know whether anywhere in the original Hebrew manuscript of New Testament the tetra gammon YHWH is mentioned. If not what does the following verse mean, "And I have made your name known to them and will make it known".(John 17:26).
Please clarify.
Regards,
AnswerDear Friend,
Jesus and the Father (God) had exactly the same nature and thus responses to very given experience or given situation. Jesus came as the exact representation of God the Father in a man. However they are two different beings with different ministries. (My Father is greater than I)
Jesus came to save the earth, the Father will judge the earth... these , besides others, differentiate them in ministry. However Jesus represented the final revelation of God to planet earth. His judging was not balanced unless you know His mercy and grace also. Jesus completed this side for Him.
God is love.
Now then making God's name known simply means making God known. The name of God represents His nature and being. What He stands for.
God is love, but loves consists of integrity, justice as well as grace and mercy. John the Baptist brought the other side, Jesus the grace and truth side.
Together the name of God was completed in revelation to planet earth.
Hope this helps?
God bless
