Question
Is it ok to Divorce if there is emotional, financial, spiritual, or physical abuse in the marriage?
What does God say about entering a marriage that (unknown to the wife)had deception before, during, and after the marriage?

Answer
Dear Sandy,
I don’t think God ever wants divorce, and I don’t think it would ever be necessary if Christians would sincerely seek God’s leading before entering marriage.  But we all sin and need to repent.
I believe it is better to separate and pray for your husband, rather than get a divorce.
I don’t know your danger exactly, but you should value your physical safety as a good steward of the body God has given you.  You should also set a standard of respect for yourself and for your husband as God’s highest creation.  Because of sin in our lives, we are less than we should be, but God still considers humans worth the life of His only Son to save us from our sin.
We all need God to be at the center of our life--to help us with marriage as well as every other aspect of life.  Please read God’s Word, the Bible every day, and entrust yourself to Him completely, following the prompting of His Holy Spirit.
  Sincerely,
  Priscilla

I have time for you. The Bible has been my guiding light for most of the 56 years of my life. My missionary parents in Brazil kindled a love for God`s Word by their example and their love for truth. The Lord has blessed my husband and me with responsible, independent children who love and serve the Lord and are our best friends. I would enjoy discussing any subject or problem from a Biblical perspective.
