Bible Studies/Lukan Parables-Kingdom of God
Expert: Dennis Herman - 5/1/2009
QuestionQUESTION: I need to summarize the teachings of the Lukan parables on the kingdom of God and compare them to the Sermon on the Mount-I have a general idea of how they compare-way to live our lives and such-is there anything else you could point out to me. The last guy responded after three days to tell me it was not in his area. My paper is due Sunday, I am working on it from the previously mentioned angle-I just do not want to miss something. Thanks for your guidance!
ANSWER: This is rather short notice but I will see what I can supply. I have been working on new interpretations of the parables. I have found some of these parables contain rules for interpreting the parables and prophecy. In many of these parables Jesus is comparing the key word of the parable to the kingdom of God. You can find a collection of these studies at:
http://adventbiblestudy.wordpress.com/ Most of them are found on a list on the left or pull down the category list and choose PARABLES.
Your question leads me to wander if you are actually looking for a study on the wedding feast. This may help you. But this study has not been checked. I will post it today and correct anything found in the editing process.
I also have a study on the sermon on the mount. It may take me a while to find it. I will send you that link.
It is your study, so use what you can and put it into your own words and thoughts. Most of the studies are from the books of Matthew and Mark. The key words should remain the same and you should be able to adopt some of the findings to the parables of Luke.

QUESTION: Thank you and sorry for such short notice, even if you do not get it to me before Sunday I am still interested in your response. Great grades are nice, but I still thirst for all the knowledge I can get from the Bible!
AnswerMy goal is to put the tools in the hands of those who want to learn. They are responsible for how they use it.
Here is the link for Jesus' sermon. I used Matthew. That way you will have to apply some of the concepts to Luke. It should be interesting. I would like to see how it turns out.
