Question
Thank you for your prayers. And I know that I have asked this many times before but just to be safe, how is that a person gets saved?

Answer
Corrina,

The process of being saved is simple:

John 3:16--"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life."

Do you believe that Jesus came and died for your sins? I know you do because you told me so. Then Jesus has given you eternal life.

But there's more:

1 John 1:9--"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

So when we believe that Jesus came and died for us, and confess our sins to Him, he forgives, and gives us eternal life.

It's as simple as that.

You've already done that. So Jesus has forgiven you of all your sins in the past. Now that you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, then you will want to follow Him and do what He does, and what He asks you to do. And as you follow Him, you are being saved from the temptation to sin, and from the sins that you commit without realizing it after you've been saved from the sins of the past. So you can say, I have been saved, and I'm being saved

Then when Jesus comes in the clouds of heaven, He will take us away from Satan and the sinful earth to a place where there is no sin. Then we will be saved from the the affects of sin. We won't want to sin any more.

So you see, there are three parts of being saved: Jesus' death saved us from all the sins of the past; Jesus life and our walk with Him saves us as we are with Him moment by moment and day by day; and we will be saved from the presence of sin so that we will no longer be tempted or harassed by sinful actions around us.

Does that make sense to you: I have been saved; I am being saved; I will be saved.

Stay close to Jesus by praying for yourself and for your family and friends. AND by reading the Bible every day.
