Question
Hello and thankyou for taking my question. I Would like to know what the "Second death," mentioned in Rev 20:14 is. Does this mean that those in hell are not tormented forever, but eventually die and second time. I cant figure it out.

Answer
Dear Pete,

Spirits live forever. Death is separation from life which is found in God. Second death is separation from God, which brings no peace. Thus torment.

We have no real idea what God has planned for the living and the dead after the second death. Its His decision but it will be good and just. No need to question God's justice. He is just.

Its sufficient to know this. Details about angels and after life are kept from us largely, I believe, because we cannot comprehend them. Our planet has time and aging but heaven does not share the same environmental attributes. Hard for us to comprehend in our finite state. Just trust God. He is what He says He is, just.

God bless
