AnswerHello Henry;
I'm a Christian, certainly you realize this since you posted this query in Christian Bible Studies.
The Divine is God. God is a Triune Being consisting of The Father, The Son or the Word and the Holy Spirit. The Word became a Man and lived among us for a time. We have no pictures of Him unless the Shroud of Turin is that picture (I think it is). The Name "God" is the English for the Hebrew, Elohim. There is no other Divinity but Him. His Name, Elohim, is a compound Name El="Strength" + ohim=latent plural indicating Three in One meaning "Faithfulness." He is also known as the I AM, the Self-Existent, or YHWH, the Sacred Name of which the vowels have been forgotten, but is known as Jehovah in English, commonly Yahweh; El Shaddai, literally Big Breasted One, describing Elohim's Motherly, protective and nurturing qualities, or God Almighty; El Elyon, Highest, God Most High; El Olam, From Everlasting to Everlasting, Ageless One, Master of Time. He has several other Names.
For the Christian the steps to developing God Consciousness include receiving the Word, commonly known of as Jesus, as Lord. The Name Jesus is Greek for "Salvation." In the English it is Joshua and in Hebrew it is Yeshua. After receiving Yeshua as Lord, one then studies the written Word, the Bible, prays and meditates upon the Word. And lastly, one submits to His Lord to be transformed into His Image and Likeness.
For a Christian the only Divine Consciousness is God Consciousness. Upon request, the Holy Spirit saturates the submitted individual and he will exude the following qualities: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Galatians 5:22. These are the outward signs of God Consciousness. However, the Holy Spirit is Perfect Gentleman and He never forces, one must ask and then freely submit to Him. Inwardly one will experience revelation, prophetic knowledge which includes knowing future events, what someone is thinking and present events outside one's personal "picture frame," and practical, applicable knowledge. In order to experience all these, not only must one submit to God, but one must live by faith. Faith is nothing more than simply believing God, believing what He says in His Word without question.
The Holy Spirit would be the One to ask for images of significance pertaining to ocean and drop of water.
I have no interest in Krishna consciousness, I have found it to be a dead end. I've already addressed God Consciousness.
The supreme purpose of God Consciousness is LOVE. After LOVE, Faith and Hope.
Ravi Zacharias has an excellent book titled, "Jesus Among Other Gods," that might be helpful to you. A full list of all religions would be quite extensive!
The highest pursuit is obedience to God which always leads to and results in LOVE.
I've already explained how to obtain God Consciousness, once one receives Jesus as Lord and believes He rose from the dead in his heart, that one will embark on a life-long journey of transformation which extends into eternity.
What are the questions of your heart? Those are the ones you should ask.
To achieve God Consciousness requires submission to the Father and study in His Word, which is His handbook, instruction manual.
Attaining immortality, bliss, knowledge--only through receiving Jesus as Lord and submission to Him.
Results and by-products were listed above.
The Christian religion does not have a place though the people congregate in churches on given days. The Christian religion is a body of people who are submitted to Jesus and serve the Father. They are in all stages of transformation from awkward, inepts to those who are perpetually at peace and radiant with joy. The Christian "Place" is in the Spirit, in the prayer closet, where the individual is immersed in the Holy Spirit and in unity with God.
The Bible is the primary text. Read first Genesis, then Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. After that, ask the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide you to other books outside the Bible that you might need.
The Highest Pursuit is LOVE and Oneness with God through submission.
I do not know any self-realized people, I only know those who have been made alive in Jesus. It would not be proper to give their e-mails here without their permission. If you are serious about wanting them, I will ask.
More details available upon request.
Sincerely,
Marilyn
