Question
What is the meaning of the verse 1 Corinthians 13:1.I'm talking about the kings Jame  version to specify.I read  this tract that is a comic also.sometimes the pictures have a bible verse at the bottom to go along with the picture. One of the pictures portrayed a family. This is what the picture stated.
Mom:you know your father didn't send the alimony check!
Boy:Mom I'm starved.Couldn't we ask the neighbors for some food?
Girl:They won't give you anything!Suzi says we're trash cause we don't go to church. And she's not allowed to play with me!Hey mom what are sinners?
Mom:I guess that's what we are, honey.I believe our Christians next door forgot to "love thy neighbor"!
It just really made sad so what does the verse mean?

Answer
Dear Amilkar,
Thank you for writing.  The King James Bible uses the word, charity, as we use the word, love.  If we talk religiously, but don't show love to our neighbor in need, it is just so much noise, not a productive relationship with God that leads others to know and follow God.
I pray that you experience God's love from other Christians, so that you repent of your sins and receive God's gift of eternal life.  Romans 6:23  If you have already, pass the Good News to others, ok?

I have time for you. The Bible has been my guiding light for most of the 56 years of my life. My missionary parents in Brazil kindled a love for God`s Word by their example and their love for truth. The Lord has blessed my husband and me with responsible, independent children who love and serve the Lord and are our best friends. I would enjoy discussing any subject or problem from a Biblical perspective.
