Question
Hi Rev. Ross

So I read and study the words of my Lord JESUS CHRIST and it came across my little mind that with all the reading and church attendances I attend.

The questions still remain for me; Romans 11:34 burns into my mind.

What is you take on: Romans 11:34 please.

Thank You Rev. Ross
GOD BLESS YOU

Answer
Hi Ray.

Thank you for your question.  It is always good to know that there are folk who not only read and listen, but also think and ask!

I would suggest that the simple answer to the question that Paul asks is "No-one"!  This ties in with some of the questions in, for example, the Old Testament books of Job: "Were you listening at God's secret council?" (15:8); Isaiah: "Who is able to advise the Spirit of YHWH?  Who knows enough to be His teacher or counsellor?" (40:13); and Jeremiah: "... can you name even one of these prophets who knows YHWH well enough to hear what He is saying?" (23:18).

However, Paul makes a striking claim when he writes to the believers in Corinth: "'Who can know what the LORD is thinking?  Who can give Him counsel?' But we can understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ" (I Cor.2:16).  I suspect that what Paul is saying here is in answer to some who had asked the same question that you have asked.  In the context of the pevious verses, it seems that he is differentiating between the natural (unregenerate) man and the spiritual (born again) man.  Disciples of Jesus have a special access, through the Spirit, to even the mind of Almighty God.  This is a mind-blowing concept, but I believe that it operates every time I commune with Him in prayer, in the attitude of Jesus - "Not my will, but Yours, be done" (Lk.22:42)!

I trust that this has been of some assistance to you.

Blessings

Expertise

I am happy to offer answers to anyone with a question that refers to the Christian Faith in its widest possible sense. I believe that the Bible is the living Word of God, and seek to base all of my life on its teaching. I also have some knowledge of some of the cults, and of Islam and Judaism. Of course, my answers are just one man's thoughts, and I would always advise a questioner to check with others, and with the Word of God.
