QUESTION: The following is a copy paste of what I have typed on a message board:


Day 1

God makes heaven and a formless earth, and light and dark.

The earth was formed 9.2 billions years after the big bang, not even remotely close to each other in time periods...



And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Evening and morning the first day... hmm... that sounds like a 24 hour day  (6 days of 24 hour periods). The timeline of the big bang however is in the billions of years



God raises up the land on a watery earth, and then he creates trees and grasses.

Plants and grass were later arrivals in the history of life and earth. Grasses arose in the Cretaceous, angiosperms evolved in the Jurassic. This would put them past day 5 (after fish).


Good one:  Day 4:

God gets around to making the sun and the moon and the stars.


The sun and moon came BEFORE life existed on this planet, not after... MAJOR inaccuracy of genesis...

And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Well more evidence that the days were really 24 hour periods...

Day 6

God creates terrestrial animals, and people. The people are put in charge


I'm sure anyone who has even been to elementary school would know about fossils and how ancient they are. And anyone who has studied biology AT ALL will know animals came before (long before) humans did.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Even more for the 24 hour time periods

So in the above, basically the bible is proven to be wrong... open up genesis and see for yourself, or I can quote the verses in a areply if you'd like.

ANSWER: Perhaps this submitted study, below, could be helpful.

No new thing under the Sun -

The LORD made ALL things; He stretched forth the heavens ALONE; He spread abroad the earth BY HIMSELF (Isa.44:24, Gen.2:3-5 below).

There is no new thing under the sun (Eccel.1:9 below); it has been already of old time been done, which was before us (Eccel.1:10 below).

NOTHING can be put to it, nor can anything be taken from it (Eccel.3:14 below); that which has been is now and that which is to be has already been (Eccel.3:15 below).

By Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him (Col. 1:16  below):


Isa.44:24    Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I [am] the LORD THAT MAKETH ALL [THINGS]; that stretcheth forth the heavens ALONE; that spreadeth abroad the earth BY MYSELF;


Eccel.1:9    The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.

QUESTION: These verses you have presented me seem to be only validating my points further. Especially this one:

Gen.2:4 These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

That verses talks about the day God made earth and the heavens. The big bang happened 13.7 billion years (13.72) whilst the earth's formation was 4.54 billion years ago. About 9.2 billion years difference in age.

I presented to you this:

God makes heaven and a formless earth, and light and dark.


Over and over again, all is talked about is the creation of the earth and universe. The universe was formed from essentially nothing (I show you an hour video which would explain this) and expanded out into what we have now. After cooling off and expansion occurring, a solar nebula formed our solar system, then came the earth.

In the beginning... the earth was not "created" with the universe.
When you read a book that is 600 pages, do you consider its first 400 to be the beginning?

BTW, you did not refute the verses...






ANSWER: I believe that God created prior to Geneses as well, creatures science now finds in fossil form science stating that their findings are thousands of years older than the history of the creation of Adam and Eve.

At the creation of Adam and Eve, God created man in His image.

I believe that the prior creation was destroyed by God by a flood which covered the earth as He also did when Noel was told to build an Ark.

I believe dinosaurs and other creatures of that type were created prior to Adam and Eve.

QUESTION: I was essentially aiming at cosmology, not the history of the earth.

Bible states:

1) earth and heavens created in the beginning

2) sun came after earth


Science:

1) earth came 9.2 billion years after (very very accurate)

2) sun came before the earth (virtually 100% accurate)


Therefore the bible is wrong.  

Answer
God’s word is true from the beginning (Ps.119:160 below).

God’s word is true and endures for ever (Ps.117:2 below)

God is the God of truth (Ps.31:5, Deut.32:4, Ps.25:5, Jn.17:17 below).

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (2 Tim.3:16 below).

The spirit of Truth will guide you into all truth (Jn.16:13 below)

If an author’s writing does not speak according to the Holy Bible, there is no light in it (Isa.8:20 below).


Ps.119.160   Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Ps.117:2     For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever, Praise ye the Lord.

Ps.31:5    Into Thine hand I commit my spirit; Thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

Deut. 32:4     He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are judgment, a God of truth and without iniquity; just and right is He.
