QuestionHi Scott
You certainly have lots of study regarding the Bible from what I read of you.
I believe every word of the Bible and even lots of what I don't understand I have faith that its ALL TRUE.
Scott, from what I've been reading this morning that;
FACTS:
Over a period of 1,600 years 40 different authors wrote the 66 books of the Bible. There were 400 yrs. between the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 of the New Testament. Yet, Genesis to Revelation tell one unified story.
My question Scott, WHO WERE THESE MEN WHO WROTE THE BIBLE.
Just give me a couple if you can?
I'm not here to prove a false issues with the Bible its just that I was just wondering.
I've been a Born Again Christian only by the saving grace of my Lord JESUS CHRIST.
GOD BLESS YOU SCOTT

AnswerHi Ray,
It's nice to hear from you.
2 Peter 1:21 "For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness ...."
Yes, the Bible truly is an interesting and unique book, made up of 66 separate books which were penned by a number of human authors. But, while God used human penman to write the words, He guided them to write exactly the words He wanted them to use, making God the ultimate author. This is why the Bible is inerrant in every word of the original text, and why it conveys one unified, cohesive message without any contradiction or error whatsoever.
You asked who the men were who wrote the Bible. Some are clearly identified, and some are left to our best guesses. Here are a few:
Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament--Genesis through Deuteronomy.
Samuel may have helped to write some of the Old Testament history books.
David and Solomon were contributors to writings in Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon.
Many of the Old Testament prophetic books were penned by the prophets whose books bear their names.
Matthew's gospel was written by Matthew, one of the disciples.
Luke, a physician and associate of Paul, wrote Luke and Acts.
Mark, an associate of Peter, wrote the Gospel of Mark.
The Apostle John wrote the Gospel of John, as well as three epistles and the book of Revelation.
Many of the New Testament epistles (letters) were written by Peter (disciple), Paul, and James (Jesus' half brother).
I hope this helps. Feel free to write back if there are other questions with which I might help.
