Question
Do you think that the Jews are Israel, or that somewhere
there are still "hidden"the other tribes of Israel?

What does God tells in His word about the tribes?

Kindley Regards,
Jan

Answer
The history of the Jewish people is the exhaustive work of many scholars.  One respected work is Emil Schürer, The Jewish People in the Time of Jesus.  It is available in libraries.
The composition of the number of tribes, 12, somewhat varied during the Old Testament.  Basically, 10 of the tribes were "lost," that is, absorbed into the pagan Assyrian empire that conquered the northern kinkdom.
After the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 AD, the heriditary priesthood of the tribe of Levi melted into the survivors.  So, Juda [Jews] has perdured.
Jesus and his great apostle, Paul, preached for the conversion of the Jewish people.  See especially, Mt 10:5ff, Romans 2:17 ff.  Paul looked for their final conversion -- Rom 11:11ff.
Obviously, the first followers of Jesus were Jews.
I hope that these thoughts help.  If you wish more, please feel free to write again.
Best wishes, Jan.
