Question
ive felt the holy spirit act upon me before and ive witnessed things from the holy spirit. but along the road i thought what if it is of satan. right then and there i was terrified and repeneted. am i forgiven, or have i commited the unforgivible sin?

Hi Ryan,
The short answere is this: Miracles no longer take place because they served their purpose which was to confirm that what a prophet, Jesus, or one of the apostles said was actually from God. The New Testament was all that God had to say to mankind and nothing was to be added to it. Miracles were God's way of presenting absolute proof and for a person to actually witness a miracle and then deny that it was from God was an unforgivable blasphemy because God did not offer any greater or other proof of his existence or the truthfulness of what a prophet said was from God. Because, obviously, miracles do not take place and have not taken place since the last half of the first century A.D., a person cannot commit the unforgivable sin now. You don't see anyone raising dead people, walking on water, calming storms by command, feeding thousands of hungry people from the contents of a picnic basket and having more left over than was in the basket to begin with, nor instantly being able to speak a foreign language that they had never known before, etc. do you? Of course not. Every so called miracle done today is one that can be faked. In other words, they're fraudulent and the people doing them are frauds and false teachers trying to make money from ignorant and easily fooled people. You can't commit the unforgivable sin in this day and age.

My education puts me second to none in this area and I have had over forty years experience in the area of teaching Christian theology, doctrine, apologetics, hermeneutics, history, and philosophy. I belong to no officially recognized organizations. I'm simply a person with a deep and lifelong desire to know the truth, a desire so strong that I have, for more than 50 years, poured myself and a lot of money into finding it and making sure of it. I believe that life is too short and valuable to waste it believing a lot of stuff that isn't true. Everyone can't be right and be in disagreement at the same time and the claims made by the writers of the Bible are simply too serious to guess about.

It's quite obvious that the Bible is not easy to comprehend thus all the divided opinions about what it teaches. I am finalizing a short treatise on the Bible that I believe will help a lot of people who seriously want to get a clear understanding of what the Bible actually has to say to everyone, a treatise that should take the mystery out of it and show that it really makes sense. People deserve help in recognizing the truth about what the Bible says because there is so much false teaching about it that is actually leading people away from God instead of to God. Education/Credentials
