Question
Someone told me that La El means "property of" or "belongs to God"    is this accurate/

Answer
Hello Chuck;

The name La'el appears in Numbers 3:24 and it does mean "belongs to God."

Admittedly, I am not an expert in Hebrew, but I have been studying it lately. From what I've gathered, "la" is like "to" and similar to "to" in its ability to be plugged in lots of places where it has different meanings.

More confidently I can tell you, "El" is a Name of God, the first part of the Name "Elohim" which is the Name in Genesis 1:1 and is translated God. "El" in Hebrew is made up of the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Aleph, and Lamed, which appears in the middle of the Hebrew alphabet. Hebrew reads right to left. Aleph means Leader, Head, the First. In ancient Hebrew pictograms it appears as an ox's head. Lamed is the picture of a hook or an ox's goad. It means "to learn" and indicates Wisdom.

La'el-literally "to God" meaning, "belonging to God."

Sincerely,

Marilyn

Expertise

I can answer questions on issues about evolution and creationism. I can answer questions on how the Bible applies to every day life and the future of mankind. I have some understanding of spiritual warfare. If I don`t know the answer to your question, I`m not going to try and pretend that I do. But every answer a questioner receives from any person, expert here or anywhere else, must be weighed against what the Bible says and laid before God in prayer. Spiritual issues are too important to just accept what a person tells you without confirmation from the Bible and the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who gives a person wisdom. He will give peace regarding how to handle any issue or teaching if it is correct.

Experience

I am a life long student of the Bible and have tested its teachings under fire and found them solid.

Education/Credentials
I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Art Education. I am a mother, and I think that is an educational qualification of itself.
