Question
QUESTION: can satin heal?

ANSWER: Hello Michael;

If you mean, satan, rather than satin, no he can't heal.

I heard Nicky Cruz talking about voo doo once. He said that what satan will do is remove one ailment and replace it with another, so you stop having, like, say, stomach ulcers, but later you have throat cancer or something like that. But that's not really healing, that's just a shell game. So, no he doesn't heal.

Jesus said that satan comes only to kill and destroy.

Sincerely,

Marilyn

QUESTION: what scripture backs this up, that he can't heal?

Answer
Hello Micheal;

The idea that satan would do any kindness, except as a bait and switch, is completely against the character of satan. Throughout the Bible his single-minded pursuit of evil is evident. Paul explains that he can masquerade as an angel of light in order to deceive the unsuspecting, II Corinthians 11:14. In John 10:10 Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Satan's fall occurred when he became full of himself, his sin was pride and his initial purpose was to take God's throne away from Him, Isaiah 14 beginning with verse 12 and Ezekiel 28 beginning with verse 12. When he failed at that, he set out to destroy the humans, that story begins in Genesis 2 & 3. Peter said in I Peter 5:8, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

In Matthew 12:25, Jesus said, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand." If satan were to heal someone, he would be a house divided against himself--he would be operating contrary to his purposes.

Sincerely,

Marilyn

Additional thoughts:

In the human world good people occasionally do bad things, bad people occasionally do good things, but in the spirit realm there are no gray areas. Battle lines are drawn and the war continues. We get a glimpse of this in the book of Job. Job is both the primary warrior and the prize in a battle between God and satan. God has faith that Job will not fail to trust Him and it is in the matter of faith or trust where the primary war is fought. For humans, trust and faith are feelings, they're nebulous things which wax and wane. But in God, Faith is only exceeded in value by Love and that not by a whole lot because in Hebrews 11:6 we are told that "without faith it is impossible to please God." This is because God counts those who trust Him without question as His allies and friends. Obedience is the means by which we humans show God we love Him. Abraham when required to offer Isaac as a sacrifice embodies this kind of Faith. He told Isaac, a strapping teen who could easily have overpowered him, "God will provide the sacrifice." And Paul tells us that Abraham believed God so fully that he was convinced God intended to raise Isaac from the dead, Hebrews 11:17-19.

We see gray. We see telling someone, "Oh, you look nice," when actually they look terrible as a white lie. For God and satan there is no gray. God is totally Good, satan is totally evil. The only gray places are where we humans live and those exist because of God's mercy. He is merciful and struggles with us because He desires that all of us would choose Him, II Peter 3:9. Any idea that satan would do a kindness is a deception. He's not capable of it. Only God can turn a bad thing good. Evil cannot do anything except evil.

This topic is huge. To cover it fully here would take more room than this venue permits. Hopefully this will give you a beginning.

Sincerely,

Marilyn

Expertise

I can answer questions on issues about evolution and creationism. I can answer questions on how the Bible applies to every day life and the future of mankind. I have some understanding of spiritual warfare. If I don`t know the answer to your question, I`m not going to try and pretend that I do. But every answer a questioner receives from any person, expert here or anywhere else, must be weighed against what the Bible says and laid before God in prayer. Spiritual issues are too important to just accept what a person tells you without confirmation from the Bible and the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who gives a person wisdom. He will give peace regarding how to handle any issue or teaching if it is correct.

Experience

I am a life long student of the Bible and have tested its teachings under fire and found them solid.

Education/Credentials
I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Art Education. I am a mother, and I think that is an educational qualification of itself.
