QuestionHow could an evil spirit come from God as 1Samuel18:10 says?
AnswerThe evil spirit FROM God -
The LORD was departed from Saul; the LORD was with David (1 Samuel 8:12 below).
When the LORD departed from Saul, the evil spirit FROM God came upon Saul (1 Samuel 18:10, 1 Samuel 16:14 below).
The evil spirit FROM God troubled Saul, and his servants also knew (1 Samuel 16:14-15 below).
Only David’s playing music for Saul, when an evil spirit FROM God came upon him, could make Saul well (1 Samuel 16:16 below).
Saul was afraid of David because the LORD was with David, and because David behaved himself very wisely (1 Samuel 8:12, 18:15 below)
Saul sought to kill David (1 Samuel 18:11 below).
CONCLUSION: In the past God has sent plagues upon the earth, and He will do so again. It would seem to me then that God is capable of sending an evil spirit upon a person whom He has turned His back on.
1 Samuel 18:9 And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
1 Samuel 18:10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit FROM God came upon Saul (1 Samuel 16:14 below), and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and [there was] a javelin in Saul's hand.
1 Samuel 18:11 And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall [with it]. And David avoided out of his presence twice.
1 Samuel 18:12 And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him (1 Samuel 16:18 below), and was departed from Saul.
1 Samuel 18:13 Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.
1 Samuel 18:14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD [was] with him.
1 Samuel 18:15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him (1 Samuel 18:12 above).
1 Samuel 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit FROM the LORD troubled him (1 Samuel 18:10 above).
1 Samuel 16:15 And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit FROM God troubleth thee (Samuel 16:14 above).
1 Samuel 16:16 Let our lord now command thy servants, [which are] before thee, to seek out a man, [who is] a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee (1 Samuel 18:10, 16:15-16 above), that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
1 Samuel 16:17 And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring [him] to me.
1 Samuel 16:18 Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, [that is] cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD [is] with him (1 Samuel 18:12 above).
