i was reading another answer on this subject and i have a question about it. however i cant find the original author of the answer so i have come to you (due to your description and living locality). this was the article:

i would greatly appreciate it if you could read over this and give me your answer and also your "opinion" on whether it would be possible for psychic powers to be given by God in that God is the only one who can read minds then for that reading to be passed back to another human, hence a psychic.

Hi Marcus,

Thank you for what must be the most unusual question that I have been asked in my time with AE!!  (That is not, by the way, a criticism!!).

I have read through the answer to which you directed me and, on that one reading, would agree with all that is said there.  I would only add the following:

1. Of course there is a sense in which we could say that it would be " ... possible for psychic powers to be given by God ...".  However, in spite of the claimed omnipotence (= 'all-powerfulness') of God there are, in fact, some things (and I say this with all reverence) that not even He can do.  One of these, of course, is to love you and me any more than He already does.  Not even God could do that! (And praise His Name for that!).  Another is to do anything that is contrary/opposed to His nature.  As He has already condemned all kinds of sorcery, I would suggest that He is not going to provide psychic powers to anyone.

2. The authors of the answer to which you directed me made a number of references to "God and Christ".  I would want to emphasise that Jesus, the Christ IS God.  This, of course, is moving into the Doctrine of the Trinity which, as they would say, is outside the scope of your question (I must remember that little phrase!).  However, I would respectfully suggest that you go to my Audio blog-site (www.revcbross.blogspot.com) and take 20 minutes or so, to listen to the message on that subject.

3. Recently I have been spending some time reflecting on the relationship between time and eternity.  I am realising that it is a lot closer than many of us think.  I mentioned a little about this in my other ministry blog at www.crazyrev.blogspot.com on Nov.30th, and you might find it worthwhile taking a few minutes to check that out.
