Question
Hi I just read an answer you gave on Blasphemy of The Holy Spirit.

I'm really worried that I may have committed this sin. To prevent myself from thinking blasphemous thoughts I would say "The Holy Spirit is good" in my mind just to keep the thoughts at bay. A while ago I consciously committed a sin and regretted it immensly, but while I was committing this sin I was thinking "The Holy Spirit is good and I'm the sinner". I'm worried that maybe thinking this while committing a sin was disrespectful? I thought that slandering the name of The Holy Spirit was blasphemy but is this also blasphemous because its disrespectful?

I urgently need your help on this please because I'm so scared.

Thank you.

Answer
I am sorry to learn of your deep concern about forgiveness.
From my previous answer about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit: such a sin is a deliberate rejection of refusing to accept God's merciful forgiveness; such a rejection can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss.
My opinion of your thought ["The Holy Spirit is good and I'm the sinner"] is that these words do not of themselves constitute the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit -- your thought does not speak of a deliberate rejection of refusing to accept God's merciful foregiveness.
Repentence and forgiveness are certainly available to you, with God's help, for your "consciously committed" sin and whatever was involved in your "disrepectful" thought.
Malulu, do not be afraid to strive for repentence and to seek God's forgiveness.
If you would like more from me on forgiveness, please feel free to write again.
Best wishes.
