Question
What does the Bible say about salvation and eternal life for people who are not Christians but who are honorable, kind, charitable, and lead lives of good will toward all?

Answer
The key biblical passage, 1 Tim 2:3-4, says that God wills all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.  Salvation is possible through God -- Mt. 19:26.
In Ephesians, Paul speaks of the "mystery" of God about His salvation -- 1:9, 3:9.
These texts provide an intellectual framework for approaching how the all-loving God works out the "mystery" of His salvific will in the conscience and life of every human being.
As you mentioned, many follow the teachings and the commands of God and His messiah, Jesus.  That is the focus of the bible, so it is understandable that it does not devote extensive thought on the salvation of those beyond that sphere.  The dominant outlook of the New Testament is that the message of Jesus should be preached to all people, for example, Mt 28:18-20.
Sofia, my answer seems rather incomplete and too brief.  If you like for further thoughts from me, please feel free to write again.
