Bible Studies/Is there any sin which God does not forgive?
Expert: Rev Philip Dacre - 4/23/2011
QuestionIn Ephesians Chp 5 Vs3, God says "But fornication, and all uncleanness or covetous, let is not be once named among you as becometh saints. Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, no covetous man, who is idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them." Sadly, I have engaged in such behavior. I am fully ashamed and will not engage in such a living going forward. I would rather live in Christ than be without Him. But I ask you...this is specific and says "not be once". Does this mean that if you make this mistake once, you are strickly forbidden from Heaven? Will Jesus son of God forgive me and intercede on my behalf with God? Regardless of this answer - yes/no, I am still committed to striving to live a life that is pleasing to God. But I cannot help but feel constantly sad about my foolishness and ignorance and past mistakes. I wish I could change the past but unfortunately life does not work that way. How do I come back to God and will he let me in still?
AnswerDear JC,
Sin comes to the Christian believer as temptation and sometimes through pressure and weakness we yield to it.
Jesus died for your "tomorrow's sin". Please read Luke 15, the Prodigal Son and apply it to yourself. Jesus forgives all the believer's sins.
He died for yours. Accept it and be glad.
God bless.
