Question
My friend's father (now 60 years) has 2 wives. For 2nd wife no marriage ceremony happened. He has children and grand children through both wives. Both the wives are blood sisters and live in the same lane. Now he wants to accept Christ and become a beleiver.
What he must do with the 2nd wife. Should he leave her? Can he continue to meet her and have physical relationship? Kindly advice. His baptism is put on a hold!

Answer
Hi Vincent,

Your denomination probably has rules concerning this.
Biblically there is no prohibition on this. He would not be eligible for the ministry however this situation is not forbidden for non-clergy.

Assuming this situation has been been going on for a long time making him choose between baptism and one of his wives could be very detrimental to everyone involved. Many men in the Bible had more than one wife.

If he and his wives are happy with the situation I'd say mazel tov and baptize him.
