Question
Hi marilyn,

My daughter says there is a verse on letting people into your house that might have a spirit on them that your children couldn't fight off.  Is that really true?

thanks

Answer
Hello Judy;

I don't know of a specific verse that matches that criteria, but I'm not sure I understand your question very well. Why would you want to invite anybody into your house who might have a spirit on them? If you have no choice, the best defense is a good offense. Take measures to keep you and your family safe.

Begin each day by praying together for the Lord to protect everyone in the family by the power of His Blood from evil and sickness in Jesus' Name. The Blood of Jesus is the most powerful substance in the universe. This prayer works really well for our family. You can also ask for angels to guard your house or apartment. You need to ask every day. And you can spend time praising God. Children can be just as effective spirit warriors as adults can, sometimes better because their faith is so strong. The enemy cannot stand to listen to praise. In fact, Psalm 8:2 clearly says that kids can run off the enemy by praising God.

Your concordance is a great resource. Use your concordance in the back of your Bible and do a search for "blood" in the New Testament. You can also go to online to Biblos or Biblegateway and do word searches for "spirit" or "evil spirit" which should help.

Sincerely,

Marilyn

Expertise

I can answer questions on issues about evolution and creationism. I can answer questions on how the Bible applies to every day life and the future of mankind. I have some understanding of spiritual warfare. If I don`t know the answer to your question, I`m not going to try and pretend that I do. But every answer a questioner receives from any person, expert here or anywhere else, must be weighed against what the Bible says and laid before God in prayer. Spiritual issues are too important to just accept what a person tells you without confirmation from the Bible and the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who gives a person wisdom. He will give peace regarding how to handle any issue or teaching if it is correct.

Experience

I am a life long student of the Bible and have tested its teachings under fire and found them solid.

Education/Credentials
I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Art Education. I am a mother, and I think that is an educational qualification of itself.
