Question
have a question a few days ago an old friend was arrested for a very horrible crime "he has not been found guilty yet" but a lot of people are saying they wish him a very slow and painful death, and hopes he burns in hell. This is breaking my heart.... so i was looking up verses from the bible and i found
1 John 3:15  Anyone who HATES his brother is a MURDERER, and you know that NO MURDERER HAS ETERNAL LIFE IN HIM.   this verse confused me, can you please help me with understanding this verse and help me to deliver some spiritual verses from the bible to send to these people who are wishing such bad things?

Answer
1 John chapter 3

I have not studied in depth on this chapter, and I haven’t the time to really get to this at this present time, because I am so heavily involved with sharing the subject of Bible prophecy, but I do believe one needs to study VERY CAREFULLY the entirety of the chapter.

1 John chapter 3 speaks regarding the children of God (1 Jn.3:9 below) and the children of Satan (1 Jn.3:10) intermittently throughout the chapter.

The children born of God to not commit sin (1Jn.3:9 below); the children of God are perfect in Christ Jesus as our Father is perfect.

Satan’s children are sinners.

The body of Christ follows Jesus’ commandments to love. Therefore we love as Jesus commands.

The question is then, Do the children of God have it within themselves to hate their brother (the children of God do not have within themselves the lusts of the flesh, but rather the gifts of the Spirit).  Satan’s children posses the lusts of the flesh.

Perhaps what I have shared can help you to begin to understand this chapter; pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his (God’s) seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 3:15  Anyone who HATES his brother is a MURDERER, and you know that NO MURDERER HAS ETERNAL LIFE IN HIM.
