Question
1)why should the Sabbath be kept from sun down to sun set?
2)why do seventh day Adventist believe the dead remain unconscious until the return of Christ?

Answer
I am not an Adventist so that my view from the outside of the denomination probably differs from their belief, but as far as your first question I tend to think they are following the Jewish tradition.  As to the second question, I believe that if their scholars delved in depth into the Holy Bible they would have a different view.
