Philip.  Can you tell me the position of the christian faith should the Ark be discovered.

Answer
Dear Gary,

The Mosaic ark of the covenant is from the time of Moses. This covenant between God and man does not exist today. It is superceded by the Covenant of Jesus who brought redemption and not atonement from sin.

Of course it is in Judaic Christian history and so is there to remind us of old covenants that God made with man before the advent of the Holy Spirit nature and power impartation to mankind.

So we respect it as history, not as having bearing on our present day covenant. Moses brought the law but Jesus Christ brought grace and truth. (John1)

In this ark were the ten commandments, now also superceded by the laws of love that Jesus brought.
