Bible Studies/The Ark and the animals

QuestionWe are taught that Noah collected male and female of each animal. How is this possible considering the small amount of time he had to build the ark and collect all the animals at the same time? And how did he house animals who come from the arctic as opposed to those that thrive in extreme heat? It's not as though there was electricity back then.
Answer Hello. It is generally believed that God told Noah about the coming worldwide flood, 120 years before it occured. This is based on the following verse in its context:
Genesis 6:3 ¶ And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
The animals came to Noah.
Genesis 6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every [sort] shall come unto thee, to keep [them] alive.
Genesis 6:21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather [it] to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
It is generally believed, based on science and archaelogy, that before The Flood, there was no extreme cold. Based on much evidence, it is believed that the whole Earth was like one giant greenhouse. We know from air bubbles trapped inside dried amber, that the air pressure was about twice what it is now. And the oxygen was doubled, too.
Maybe after The Flood, certain animals could accept the extreme cold. Animals can change within themselves, showing different character traits. I mean if you breed different dogs, you can come up with a new breed. But a dog never turns into an elephant. The Theory of Evolution is false.
Let's take the Woolly Mammoths. It has been long thought to be woolly, so that it could survive the cold. But then they found that it had sebacious glands and that it was native to tropical jungles. Many tropical animals have woolly hair. In fact, if my memory is accurate, I seem to remember hearing that a woolly mammoth could not survive extreme cold. They were frozen so quickly that most of them are found standing up, and with food still in their mouths. When an animal dies, the stomach acids continue to function and break down the animal's last meal. But these mammoths are found with the food fresh in their stomachs. They were frozen so quickly that even the acids shut down.
