Question
Sometime before His assention to Heaven -- Jesus knowing the deciples were not devine -- gave them some leaway? I.E. They (the deciples)could determine doctrin or methods... and because they acted under the spirit (Holy Ghost)& in His name, He would make the decission ok with the Father...

Is there scripture to support the above? (Excuse my poor spelling -- I am just a fisherman correctly or incorrectly remembering a reading from my childhood)

Answer
Joe, don't worry about spelling. Thanks for writing.
I would not use the word "leaway."  Rather, I would say that Jesus sent the Holy Ghost [Holy Spirit] to enligten and guide the disciples in spreading the message that Jesus had already given to them.
Mt 28:20 speaks of teaching the doctrine of Jesus.
Lk 24:45 speaks of the opening of the disciples minds to undersand the scriptures.
Jn 17:6-20 speaks of Jesus remaining with the disciples to carry out his words.
These scriptures say that Jesus and the Holy Spirit will be with the apostles in teaching the message that they had received.
If I have missed your question, Joe, please feel free to write again.
Best wishes.
