Question
2 Corinthians 6:14?
CAN U GIVE ME A MESSAGE ON THIS VERSE

Answer
Hi Miguel,

II Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

This scripture isn't especially difficult understand. The picture of being yoked refers to two oxen that would work together to accomplish what neither could  do alone. So, as believers we are instructed to not pair ourselves in relationships with unbelievers. There are many applications of this biblical teaching, but the most obvious pertain to business partnerships and marriage relationships. Since the ultimate purpose of dating is to determine whether another individual might be a suitable marriage partner, a believer should not even date an unbeliever.

Why not? Because, as scripture points out, we (believers) have nothing in common with unbelievers. The goals, objectives, priorities and allegiances of a believer are not shared in common with an unbeliever. We can not effectively live a life pleasing to God when we have compromised ourselves through such relationships.

Does this help? Let me know if you have any follow-up questions as I would be glad to answer further if necessary.
