Question
Why did God only picked men to write the Bible?

Answer
Hello.  That is a good question.  We do not know for sure whether any women wrote any of the books of The Bible.  There are some books in the Old Testament that do not give the author's name.  It does not really matter whether women wrote any of the books of The Bible.  They were certainly the focus point of some of them.  For instance, there is the book of Ruth, or the book of Esther.  These women are the main character, but we do not know who wrote these books.

Most Bible scholars, and pastors, alike, would agree that they were more likely written by men, because of the clear teaching in I Timothy, that a women is not to be a Pastor.

1Timothy 2:11-14 "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.  But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.  For Adam was first formed, then Eve.  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."

This is not saying that a woman can not talk at all.  It is saying that a woman is not to try to be the leader of the church.  She is not to try to get up and take over.

1Timothy 3:1-5 "This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;  Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;  One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;  (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)"

A bishop is another word for a Pastor.  Then it says, "...the husband of one wife,..."  The King James word is "husband", and this is a Greek word, which we would pronounce as "on air".  It can be found in The Strongest Strong's Concordance.  This concordance lets you look up words, and what their meaning is, and if you know one word in a verse, then you can look up that word, and find where that verse is.  Anyways, this Greek word is Strong's word # 435.  This Greek word is a noun, and it means "man, male, husband; usually an adult male, but in some contexts the emphasis is on maturity rather than gender"

So I am sure that many would then say that this could refer to a woman, if you use the last possible meaning.  But that is not true, because it is meaning a man in the context of the chapter, because it says "...the husband of one wife,..."

The King James word, "wife," is the Greek word, which we would pronounce as "goonay."  It is Strong's word number 1135 and it means, "woman; wife"

Since wife is "woman; wife," then husband in the context of 1 Timothy 3:2 cannot be merely a mature Christian, or person unless Scripture condones homosexuality and teaches that there is such a thing as same sex marriage.  It does not.  Therefore in this context "husband"(onair) can only be a man in the sense of a male man(not merely a representative of mankind, because the Greek word for that would be pronounced, "anthropos".)

Also, later in the chapter it says of deacons, 1Timothy 3:12 "Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well."

Clearly, it is taught that it is a man that is to be the Spiritual leader, of church, and at home.  But a woman is just fine to teach her children, and the father should be the head teacher, and head of the household.  There were no female apostles.  Christ was not a woman.  Their is most definitely a place for women.  Yet, a man should be the leader.

 This is God's Gospel:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23   "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23   "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8   "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16   "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
