Question
Could you please give me an interpretation of the verse and he shall cause crafts to prosper in his hand

Thanks for asking.
First of all, the eighth chapter of Daniel is about events that were to take place in the first century AD when God brought the final judgement down on the Jews for rejecting Jesus. Since about the year 30 AD, the Law of Moses was set aside having been fulfilled by the resurrection of Jesus and Jesus was given all power in heaven and on earth so that the Law of Christ took the place of the Law of Moses. Then, in 70 AD when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem, God brought the ultimate and final end to the Jews access to himself so that they could no longer get forgiveness to their sins and resigning them forever to "outer darkness" unless they accepted Jesus as savior. Jesus had told them that he was the only way and no one would be allowed to "come to the Father" except through him but most of them had refused to listen to him. You see, when Jerusalem was destroyed, all of the genieological records of Jewish families that were stored in the Temple were destroyed. This meant that the Jews could no longer have a legitimate priesthood to intercede for them and offer the required sacrifices for their sins and it meant that no Jew could establish their right to the land. In order for a Jew to become a priest, he had to be able to prove that he was a descendant of Aaron, the brother of Moses and without those family records it could not be done. So, this meant the final judgement for the Jews. Jesus is the only way to God and to his kingdom. The apostle, John, said that Jesus was the true light (chapter 1), and Jesus had said that he was "the way the truth and the light..." So, if you are not "in Chirst," that is, if your faith is not in Jesus and you are not obeying his commandments, it means that you are in utter, or "outer," darkness and lost without hope of salvation. Jesus said that unless a person believed that he, Jesus, was the savior and willingly obeyed him that that person would die in his sins. Of course, this clearly refutes those people that think that there are many ways to heaven. According to the Bible, there is not. So, you see, all the talk about the Jews being God's people today is pure ignorance and contradicts what the Bible plainly says. A "true Jew," according to the apostle Paul is a person that is living a life that is faithful to the commandments of Jesus. No one can get into the kingdom of God by obeying the Law of Moses or the commandments of Mohammed or the commandments of any other person or even an angel from heaven.
Now, for Daniel 8:25. This is just a passage saying that this particular Roman ruler would be very successful and that he would think of himself as a god because of his success over the Jews who claimed that their God was the only true God. It is probably a reference to Nero because it was under his reign that the final judgment was brought on the Jews.
Today, the people that call themselves Jews do so illigitimately and people are wrong to believe that these people are God's chosen ones. They are among God's rejected ones. This, according to the Bible, is a fact and not just a guess.
I hope that this has been enlightening to you and that you have been helped. Most people do not know what I have just revealed to you because they do not want to believe it. They would rather believe the lies that they have been told or that they have invented for themselves and then palm off on ignorant and uneducated people.

I believe that life is too short and valuable to waste it believing a lot of stuff that isn't true. Everyone can't be right and be in disagreement at the same time and the claims made by the writers of the Bible are simply too serious to guess about.

It's quite obvious that the Bible is not easy to comprehend thus all the divided opinions about what it teaches. I am finalizing a short treatise on the Bible that I believe will help a lot of people who seriously want to get a clear understanding of what the Bible actually has to say to everyone, a treatise that should take the mystery out of it and show that it really makes sense. People deserve help in recognizing the truth about what the Bible says because there is so much false teaching about it that is actually leading people away from God instead of to God. It should be ready to send out by the end of this year, 2011 or before.
