Bible Studies/GOD Greek Translation

Question
When the word "God" is translated from Greek and Hebrew is the masculine connotation translated also? I am not sure if that question makes complete sense but I am wondering why God is almost always referred to as "He" (I am not referring to Jesus in this part) and if there is any real reason we should refer to God as "He" (according to the orignal Greek) when God in fact is a spirit and not a physical being. I also recognize that the English language does not have a neutral word for he or she... Thank you so much and I am appreciative that your group is offering this service. With hope, Alisa
