Question
Hello,

The following is an excerpt from an email i received from a reverand, in respond to Christians having the right and duty to point out that homosexuality is a sin.  I am troubled by the quote, "God may reverse what is being taught in the bible as we speak right now."  Can you please give me Biblical references to support or refute this statement?  Thanks!

Michael

I am more concerned about the mindset of the person who's saying "right and wrong."  To us, human beings, there is no "absolute" right and wrong.  The only being that can be absolutely sure of what something is right, and what something is wrong, is God,and only God.  Scripture reveals to us a great hint of how God would judge what is wrong and what is right.  So, of course, we can use the scripture to discern for ourselves, what "may" be right, and what "may" be wrong.  However, it is also scripturally true that what God judged to be right in a certain time of history, was revoked in later time in history, by God's self.  Noah's story is a good hint of this. What God judged to be the right thing to do, to wipe out the entire human race, is what God judged NOT to do for the rest of eternity. And you know what, even if that's what it says in the Noah story, nothing we can do to stop God from doing that again because God "changes" God's mind.  Another way to explain this is that God only reveals to us a certain part of God's will (in timeless history of God's mind), and in the ultimate part of God's will, God may reverse what is being taught in the bible as we speak right now.  We just don't know.

Answer
"GOD MAY REVERSE WHAT IS BEING TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE AS WE SPEAK RIGHT NOW."

Never!

Malachi tells us God never changes—(Mal. 3;6)

Isaiah tells us God's word lasts forever—(Isaiah 40;8)

Timothy tells us, God's word, as it is now, makes us "complete"—(2Tim. 3; 16,17)

If they are not enough, show him- (Psalms 119; 160) "the bible is TRUTH and lasts to TIME INDEFINITE".

(Isaiah 55; 11—"My word will NOT return to me, until it is completed"

Jesus said of the bible—"your word is TRUTH" (John 17;17)

Paul tells us "the truth cannot be changed"  ( 2 Cor.13;8)

"NOAH--WHAT GOD JUDGED TO BE THE RIGHT THING TO DO, IS WHAT GOD JUDGED NOT TO DO FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY"

Nonsense, the reason God brought the flood was because of the peoples wickedness, the principles and standards he judged them by have never changed and he intends to destroy the wicked again in the near future (psalms 37; 10,11), because his standards of right and wrong NEVER change.

God didn't approve of Homosexuality then and he still doesn't approve of homosexuality now.
(Luke 17; 26); (Hebrew 10; 30)

The reverend is described in (Romans 1; 28-32) and (John 8 ; 47)

All the best
