QuestionHello,
I am interested in learning about Christianity. Can you recommend me a book to read that is about Christianity .. like the basics.. how it all started ….you know all of that. Everything I need to know about Christianity. A book that is simple and clear , no “ thy tho ‘ stuff in it. Thanx.
AnswerI'm glad you're interested in learning about Christianity. I would recommend reading the book of John in the Bible, in a modern version instead of the King James version. It starts at the very beginning. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...All things were made by Him...In Him was life and the life was the light of men...light is come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than light because their deed were evil." John 1:1,3,4, and 3:19 The Word, Jesus Christ, became human to live a perfect life, then die and pay for our sins and come back to life so we could have His perfect life and live with Him forever. A Christian has Christ in his/her life and the Bible is how we know about Christ. Christianity is about God and God isn't simple, but there is no other explanation of all we see and feel that makes more sense than what the Bible says.
I hope I haven't discouraged you. Just consider this parable of the "pearl of great price." Matthew 13:46
I pray that you find that "pearl."
