Hello,
I am interested in learning about Christianity. Can you recommend me a book to read that is about Christianity .. like the basics.. how it all started ….you know all of that. Everything I need to know about Christianity. A book that is simple and clear , no “ thy tho ‘ stuff in it. Thanx.
Dear Hoda, the very best book on Christianity is the Bible. Get a copy of the New American Standard Version, or the New International Version, because they read well without the archaic language. Other than that, there are a few very good books that correctly explain various biblical teachings that I can recommend but I'll have to get the titles and publisher info for you in a day or two and get back to you with it.
If you will keep in touch with me with your questions, I can help you more easily and correctly understand the Bible than if you just take off reading it. It can take years to accruately understand it without help and most people never arrive at an accurate understanding of it as you can tell by all the different churches teaching conflicting doctrines all over the world. If you are going to understand the Bible correctly, you have to learn how to recognize what the writers of it were originally trying to explain in the first place. The common notion that everybody is right in their own way is non sense. If you wrote a letter to someone, you wouldn't want them to think that you had said things that you did not say would you? Of course not, you would want them to correctly understand you, especially if what you were trying to say was a matter of life or death. Well, the writers of the Bible make it quite clear that what they are trying to explain is definitely a matter of life or death and that they very much want people to understand them correctly.

Experience
My education puts me second to none in this area and I have had over forty years experience in the area of teaching Christian theology, doctrine, apologetics, hermeneutics, history, and philosophy. I belong to no officially recognized organizations. I'm simply a person with a deep and lifelong desire to know the truth, a desire so strong that I have, for more than 50 years, poured myself and a lot of money into finding it and making sure of it. I believe that life is too short and valuable to waste it believing a lot of stuff that isn't true. Everyone can't be right and be in disagreement at the same time and the claims made by the writers of the Bible are simply too serious to guess about.
Publications
It's quite obvious that the Bible is not easy to comprehend thus all the divided opinions about what it teaches. I am finalizing a short treatise on the Bible that I believe will help a lot of people who seriously want to get a clear understanding of what the Bible actually has to say to everyone, a treatise that should take the mystery out of it and show that it really makes sense. People deserve help in recognizing the truth about what the Bible says because there is so much false teaching about it that is actually leading people away from God instead of to God. It should be ready to send out by the end of this year, 2011 or before.
