What is the difference between the Northern Kingdon (Israel) adn the Southern Kingdom (Judah)?  Why were they separated?  Were they two different countries?  Thanks.

Sam, I appologize for the delay in answering. Here are the answers to your questions.
Q 1. What is the difference between the Northern Kingdon (Israel) adn the Southern Kingdom (Judah)?
Answer: The southern kingdom was made up of Judah and Benjamine, but because Judah was by far the largest tribe it was the dominant of the two and so the southern kingdom was called Judah. Israel, the northan kingdom, was composed of the other ten tribes.
Q 2. Why were they separated? Were they two different countries?
Ansere: You could say that they were two different countries since they each had their own kings and territory. The original kingdom that was ruled over by David and Solomon became divided due to Solomons marriage to numerous pagan wives who influenced him to become involved in idolatry. Because of this, God divided the kingdom as you can read in 1Kings 11. This is a good example of how God does things. He uses even the foreign idolatrous nations to punish his own unfaithful idolatrous people and the foreign nations have no clue as to why they are victorious.
Perhaps this would be a good time to teach you something else that is very important, something that most of the world is ignorant of. When the Roman army destroyed Jerusalem in the summer of AD 70, they destroyed all of the geneological records stored in the temple there. God had given the land of Palestine to Israel forever but only on the condition that they remained faithful. Time after time both Israel and Judah became idolatrous like the nations around them and each time God punished them and then forgave them and restored the land to them. However, in AD 70 the final judgment was brought on Israel. You see, in order for Israel to continue to be a nation they had to have a legitimate priesthood by through which they could approach God. Without a priesthood, no Jew could approach God and would be forever seperated from God unless they accepted the Lordship of Jesus the Messiah. Well, when all the geneological records in the temple were destroyed, there was no way to know who had the right to be a priest because before a person could be a priest he had to be able to prove that he was a direct decendant of Aaron, the brother of Moses. No birth records, no priesthood, no access to God, no nation, no right to the land. Understand? All of the turmoil over Israel's right to the land of Palestine today is bogus. They have no legitimate claim to the land of Palestine because God took it from them forever and destroyed any possibility that they could ever make a legitimate claim to the land again. AD 70 was the end of time for Israel, it was their final judgment! Not one Jew today can trace his lineage back to Aaron. All the clamour and tragedy going on in the Middle East today is the result of a bogus claim being made by people who are illigitimate Jews that have no way of actually keeping the Law of Moses as was required of them. They are in complete violation of the very Law that made them a nation in the first place.
How important is this fact? Very, very, very important and most religious leaders today refuse to even acknowledge it because of strong prejudices and serious misinterpretations of the Bible.

It is not just to punish people for diaobeying what they cannot know with absolute certainty. True faith is based on sure knowledge, not prejudice. Understand? When, in 2Cor., Paul said that "we walk (live) by faith and not by sight," he was speaking about the second coming of Jesus which was yet future. However, Christians could be certain that Jesus was coming back because of the miracles worked by the apostles. You see, their ability to work miracles proved that they were telling the truth. Nicodemus, in John 3, said it as plain as anyone could have said it. The writers of the Bible never thought of faith the way people do today. Today, faith is a synonym for prejudice and credulity. Look all these terms up in the dictionary and see for yourself. This fact causes most people, including most scholars, to seriously misinterpret virtually every doctrine in the Bible which means that there is a lot of false teaching going on in all of the churches. Idolatry is what it is, the same as it was in the days of Solomon and every doctrine that differs from what Jesus taught causes people to worship a false Christ. This is idolatry.
