Jesus Christ rose on the third day. Before he rose where did he go to. Some people say to hell to take away the keys from the devil. Others say he just went to heaven and came back. Too many have told me he took away the keys from the devil. I believe he went to hades to take away the keys. Where can I find where he went in the bible. They also say he went to the abyss. I looked for abyss in my bible and could not find it. I have the regular King James version. All help is greatly appreciated. God Bless Everyone!

You asked me why would Christ go to hell. Well as I stated in my question, I was told he went so he could  take away the keys from the devil. I never stated he went there to stay. I appreciate your help. I hope this answers your question! I still don't see in your answer where it states that he went to hell, or where the abyss is! Thanks again for your help.

Answer
I was asking why a person would think that he went to Hell.  I do not believe that he ever went to Hell, at all!  He did not need to go to Hell to have any keys.  I do not believe Satan had any keys.  Everything is in God's Sovereign control--not Satan's.  I was not stating in my answer that he went to Hell.  I believe he died, and went to Heaven!

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23   "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23   "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8   "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16   "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

You accidently left your question on my comment file.  I only got part of it, so here goes:

Ephesians 4:8-10   8  Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

It either refers to Christ's buriel, or his coming to Earth, or his conception, etc.
