Question
Hi Paul

I would like to ask you if Jesus was a Levite? People are telling me he was not - so than why did God make the Levites the priests, why not make the tribe of Judah from which Jesus emerged the priestly tribe? Thanks for your'e help.

Answer

Heb 7:14  For IT IS EVIDENT THAT OUR LORD SPRANG OUT OF JUDA; OF WHICH TRIBE MOSES SPAKE NOTHING CONCERNING PRIESTHOOD.

No sir, the Lord was not a Levite. The Levites were a human priesthood, after the flesh. If you read Hebrews a few times the reasoning may become apparent, God was giving us a living example of the inability of man to save himself and God's ability to do so. It was for our learning and understanding.

Hope this helps, feel free to do a follow up question.

The Bible contains an answer to all things necessary to life and salvation. We many times simple do not like the answer it gives. But, if your seeking the truth of God`s word, I can give my opinion and show from the Scriptures the basis for why I believe it is the correct interpretation of the Bible on most questions.
