QuestionIn Hebrews 11:22 states By faith Joseph when he died, made mention of the departing of Israel, and gave a commandment concerning his bones. Then in Matthew 27 it states the graves were opened and many bodies of the saints which slept arose. Could Joseph had been one of these saints seeing he requested that his bones be taken out of Egypt, and they were buried in Shechem 30 miles away from the Holy City?
And did queen Esther have any children by the King. Would this be an explanation of why the gospel is going into Syria?
AnswerMatthew 27:52-53
I believe that the "many" raised after the Lord’s resurrection (Matt.27:52-53 below) are the twenty-four elders seen in heaven throughout the book of Revelation (Re.4:4, Re.5:8-10, Re.11:16, Re.19:4 below).
I believe that the twenty-four elders out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation (Re.5:9 below) are out of the nations referenced at Acts 2:5, 9-11, below.
Matt.27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Matt.27:53 And came out of the graves after his (Jesus') resurrection, and went into the holy city (Jerusalem), and appeared unto many.
Re.4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Re.5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
Re.5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Re:5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Re.11:16 And the four and twenty elders , which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
Re.19:4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Acts 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Acts 2:10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
I do not know if Queen Ester had any children by the King.
